This Christmas season has taken a strange turn, with two close people passing within five days of Christmas. There will be reflections on this, later down the road. As of now, I’ve had neither the time nor the energy that I usually put into a post. So in the meantime, I figured I would share my top 3 Christmas posts, and I will likely catch back up with Back to Stable Hill in the new year.
I will say this, though, before I share the links. Drop the silly little grudge you have that keeps you from talking with someone. Call the person who’s been on your mind. Propose a truce, if need be. Apologize, and don’t let pride keep you from it. Make sure that you know where you will go when you die. Christmas is the season for forgiveness – whether by accepting Jesus’ free gift or forgiving others. Lives can be lost in an instant. You never know what the day holds – make amends before it is too late.
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
– James 4:14, King James Version
Not exactly the cheery Christmas post you were expecting, but a very important reminder of how fleeting life is. Christmas is the time for family, forgiveness, and faith – make sure to make amends with those you need to today. I hope you and your loved ones have a Merry Christmas.
