Regardless of your political views, today is Veterans Day, the day when we pay tribute to all American veterans. That includes the veterans who served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the War Between the States (the Civil War), World War 1 & 2, Vietnam, Korea, the Gulf Wars, and the War on Terror. Unlike Memorial Day, which remembers the veterans we have lost, Veterans Day pays tribute to all veterans, living or dead.
Every single veteran was willing to give something for America’s freedom – whether it be a limb, their mind, or their life. Do not let their sacrifices go unnoticed and unthanked. Some of my greatest friends are veterans, and they go through things that we can only imagine. There is an epidemic going on, and it’s not related to a virus. More than 20 veterans commit suicide every day because of the things they have seen and done while protecting us. I am asking you, today and every other day – if you know a veteran, or someone who is still serving, give them a call and thank them for their sacrifice. Let them know you’re there for them, and that you truly appreciate everything they have and are going through for your safety and freedom. It might just keep them from writing that other note.
Freedom isn’t free…for some it costs everything.
